Bebo tries an interesting way to engage users in their social network

Here's an interesting attempt by Bebo to activate their users and get them to nominate themselves and get other users to vote for them. It's called Bebo Darwin and assigns a status to users who manage to get their friends to vote for them. It appeals to two of the fundamentals of social networking: narcissism (people want to show off their status) and user participation (in this case: voting). I'd be curious about the results for this kind of initiative.
