Annoying Orange vs Angry Birds - guess who gets shot first?

Funny video and good use of storytelling through interlinking different videos based on a user's decision. Interlude.fm can do this even more seamlessly but nonetheless this is pretty funny!

Fun Wall (the facebook app) for sale on Adonomics

Either Slide got bored with Fun Wall, or Adonomics doesn't really check its listings - according to their site, Fun Wall can be had for only $1,000,000! Here's the link. In case someone bought it for less than the estimated value of $9MM (I wonder how Adonomics comes up with that), here's a screenshot:

Germany Turkey - the redux

Germany won against Turkey on Wednesday in an exciting match. This is a pretty funny illustration of the event:

for the non-Germany speakers - it says "Failed to enter Vienna in 1529, 1683 and 2008 - admit it, you'll never get in!

The Darjeeling Limited is worth it just for this song

I watched the movie last night, nothing to write home about but I love this song by Peter Sarstedt. Enjoy!

Poor startup marketer looking for free affiliate summit ticket

More power to blogs and giveaways - i'd love to attend the 2008 Affiliate Summit West but $1,500 is just too much for our Marketing budget. So the friendly folks at John Cow (I love the slogan "making mooney online" by the way) are giving away one for free. So why should I win - well, because I just blogged about this, can't spend the money, love Vegas and would learn a lot (and have some fun).
Yes, this does sound like a shameless payperpost but it isn't. It's the magic of incentives at work joined up with the buzzword of this era- user generated content!

Some fun for Friday - make my logo bigger!

Check out this little video (unfortunately not embeddable nor shareable on Facebook).
This is a neat campaign that has apparently gained some viral traction - but could have done much better in tying it to the actual product/service (it is some agency willing to code sites for you). It also could benefit from the standard Facebook/Myspace/Addthis/Gigya modules so people can spread this easier (and they could track it easier!). Still, fun 60 seconds for a Friday!

The Nigerian Letter Scam arrives on Linkedin

Today I received a linkedin from A Marcus Elliker, Owner Import and Export from the Ivory Coast. I've been a big fan of the Nigerian letter scam (Dear Sir, $24021350 Million are waiting for you, just wire $10,000 now to get started) for years, be it in Email or via real letter (my dad has been receiving them for decades).
This is the first time I've gotten one on Linkedin - so congrats to Mr Elliker for being a cutting edge, 2.0 scamster!

US States and their comparable-sized countries

I found this interesting map on the Strange Maps blog today and thought you would enjoy it. Gives you an idea of the scale of the US economy! Now I'd only need to know where North and South Dakota are.....

Happy Holidays

I really like this greetings app built by Adi and his crew over at Oddcast. It's a nice combination of flash, user-generated photo and voice and an easy interface. Try it for yourself!

What if Google had to optimize their own ranking

Very funny post. Google would look a lot different if they had to play by their own book.

You know when you're not 21 anymore.... in response to Guy Kawasaki

"How to change the world" is one of my favorite blogs - not updated superfrequently but always great content. This week, Guy Kawasaki blogs about how you know when you're old. Especially listen to the voicecast. My own humble, not-yet-so-old additions to this are:

1) When you can't eat half a pig anymore and not gain a gram of fat
2) When bouncers at clubs stop asking you for your ID
3) When people start using formal language when addressing you (this works better in German or Spanish)
4) When you and your friends start talking about kids and mortgages
5) When you really start substituting wine for beer (and not only 2 buck chuck)....

feel free to add more to this

Ratatouille is the most charming Pixar movie so far

Last night I went down to Union Square to see Ratatouille with some friends. It was one of the most charming movies I've seen in the last year. The creativity the Pixar folks come up with is just unbelievable. Definitely go see it (and check out the trailer here)
